چکیده

Many applications of automated deduction require reasoning modulo backgroundtheories, in particular some form of integer arithmetic. Developing corresponding auto-mated reasoning systems that are also able to deal with quantified formulas has recentlybeen an active area of research. We contribute to this line of research and propose anovel instantiation-based method for a large fragment of first-order logic with equalitymodulo a given complete background theory, such as linear integer arithmetic. Thenew calculus is an extension of the Model Evolution Calculus with Equality, a first-order logic version of the propositional DPLL procedure, including its ordering-basedredundancy criteria. We present a basic version of the calculus and prove it sound and(refutationally) complete under certain conditions.

Model Evolution with equality - Revised and implemented

In many theorem proving applications, a proper treatment of equational theories or equality is mandatory. In this paper we show how to integrate a modern treatment of equality in the Model Evolution calculus (ME), a first-order version of the propositional DPLL procedure. The new calculus, MEE, is a proper extension of the ME calculus without equality. Like ME it maintains an explicit candidate...

Darwin - A Theorem Prover for the Model Evolution Calculus

Darwin is the first implementation of the Model Evolution Calculus by Baumgartner and Tinelli. The Model Evolution Calculus lifts the DPLL procedure to first-order logic. Darwin is meant to be a fast and clean implementation of the calculus, showing its effectiveness and providing a base for further improvements and extensions. Based on a brief summary of the Model Evolution Calculus, we descri...

ME(LIA) - Model Evolution With Linear Integer Arithmetic Constraints

Many applications of automated deduction require reasoning modulo some form of integer arithmetic. Unfortunately, theory reasoning support for the integers in current theorem provers is sometimes too weak for practical purposes. In this paper we propose a novel calculus for a large fragment of first-order logic modulo Linear Integer Arithmetic (LIA) that overcomes several limitations of existin...
